Barbera is Piedmont’s most widely planted red grape variety, known for its fruit and vibrant acidity. The Barbera d’Alba from Fontanafredda, a winery founded in 1858, is a spicy, powerful red with red and black fruit, good freshness and a savoury finish.
Ideal with red meats, lamb, roasts, stews and aged cheeses.
