Zorzettig is a family winery founded in 1874 in Spessa di Cividale, in the Colli Orientali del Friuli. Its Merlot is a lively red with pleasing smoothness, with aromas of redcurrant, blueberry and strawberry and hints of forest floor. On the palate it is enveloping and nicely persistent, a style that favours freshness, fruit and elegance over power. The winery suggests it with frico and polenta; it also works beautifully with grilled red meat.
